During the course of the day I was absorbed and immersed in the process, and it was only the following day, when I looked at this particular piece with fresh eyes, that I saw what I had unveiled. I saw The Muse in many faces and facets, all somehow connected by the process of allowing the paint to lead to discoveries and visions with great freedom and joy.
The process was demanding, quite challenging – but after that essential good night’s sleep (rest is just as much part of the creative process as actual paint application or removal!) I saw what the work was saying to me.
This is The Muse speaking. Give me room to move. Stand back, and rest, and see where I can lead you to – new places, new expressions, fresh life for your work… I could be found in a earthy, educated gentleman; a beautiful woman in a black backless gown; a face of a young girl; a cubist-style expression; a crowd of humanity… I am present in more than you know, and if you relax and give me room to move, I can reveal wonders. I am The Muse.
