Mid-morning to noon brought rapid changes as the sun clouded over and then peeped out again, changing the sky reflections in the pond to blue-black with pitch-black shadows reflections and deep shadows, and then to a deep, velvety blue with strong shadows and reflections. The lilypads are touched with reflected light, bringing a silvery-green tone to their surfaces, and highlighting the leaf-structure and its veins.
Blue-black water and at times, some hard-edged reflections, combine with direct lighting which causes shadows from the reeds to fall across the lilypads, to break the silvery glittering surfaces with a soft touch of green. Light spots abound and this makes the space quite magical…
The fallen leaf slowly fills with water as time passes.
