The gold dust of the heavenly realm is sprinkled down onto our earth, and our eyes are opened to see the things of heaven and earth in a new light. There is the thinnest of veils between heaven and earth, and even little droplet s of water reflect heaven, and create openings to glimpses of greater depths. Everything comes together to lead the eye through the flow of creativity and colour; everything points to the Creator God, and Psalm 19:1 confirms that “the heavens declare the glory of God…” and that meaning abounds in everything.
Waterlily blossoms – seen from above in a heavenly perspective – are captured in bud and full-blown form, bringing a concentrated touch of heavenly blue to the composition, and a reminder of the time and seasons. Lines of iridescent light highlight a path for the eye to travel, and light spots create an emphasis of focal structure across the canvas that echoes the colour accents and flow as well. Textural interest abounds, the tangle of submerged stems and illusions of depth shift in tone across the canvas, but it all leads back to the still point, the Source, where we can be still, and know…
