Broken but beautiful

Acrylic on A3 watercolour paper

After Wolseley’s Clerodendrum in the monsoon rain, and the leaf with silver Lepidoptera ‘stitches’, I saw a leaf that was broken, but still beautiful.

We entered into collaboration. I was trying to paint the Light, really…

And wondering if I should note, in pencil, my thoughts – as Wolseley does – on the face of the painting: I may be broken… but there’s beauty in brokenness.
