Beginning with a colourful palette for iridescence, collaboration with nature (a la Wolseley) and woven lace (thanks Cal Lane!) was followed by thoughts of weaving Eden’s garden into a contemporary visual expression. An overexposed photograph of work-in-progress prompted me to persist with cloudy veiling in white as an expression of the Spiritual and the Light, whilst thinking of my garden and how ‘weeds’ are simply mis-placed human definitions of what might otherwise / elsewhere be seen as beautiful.
The beauty of a garden is in its light and shade, intricate detail, expansive depths and heights, and the way vegetation frames the interstitial spaces and beyond…
I love the sensation of what is happening here, and that we’re seeing beyond the weeds.
