Forest Song

The beautiful objects in my Still Life and the alla prima painting experience inspired me to create a time-based abstract work inspired by the forest where I live in Palmwoods. Forest markings – like the peeling of paperbark and the borers’ artwork on the scribbly gums, dance with the tones of early morning mists in the low-lying areas and red river gums trunks as their bark splits… shafts of light pierce the canopy and echo the verticals of music bars that combine in the song that the forest sings over time.

Music plays out over time… and I painted Forest Song. Alla prima. With joy.
