Creation of sun, moon and stars on day 4, gave rise to the rhythm of time and seasons. Time is integral to every artwork – the time it takes to be created, and the time in history to which it relates. Seasons constitute life itself, and thus become a worthy focus, or reference, within artistic expression.

This painting references a Rainforest setting – sunlight glistens between leaves; trees grow and bark splits and is shed; leaves change colour; and forest fruit forms –and the notion that there is a time and a season for everything (Ecclesiastes 3).

Seeing life within the context of time and seasons enables a broader vision for the meaningful and important. The transition between day and night bears a highlight of pure gold – magnificent sunrises and sunsets are an everyday gift from our Creator.
