Acrylic on marine ply
1.2m x 4.8m quadtych
Lily pads form a curved ‘bridge’ that reaches across the panels, on which a green frog rests, and under which fish seek shelter and play. Dragonflies hover overhead, and rainbows of colour convey joy and hope and bright futures for the children at Nambour Primary School.
It is my prayer that by reaching out in love, using God’s gift of creativity, that this painting may touch young lives and play a part in building a bridge to a bright future. This is the aim of Nambour Primary School – to build bridges to bright futures. It is an aim that is reflected in the school logo, and which Mary, the principal, holds close to her heart.
How can a painting touch lives or build a bridge to a bright future? By radiating God’s love to the children… By an overwhelming sense of the presence of the Creator of the Universe instilled within the immense image… By an indescribable, bright, joyous encouragement of hope when standing before it… And by the Word that can catch the light at just the right moment and reveal God’s Truth.
Jeremiah 29:11, “I will bless you with a future filled with hope…”
Psalm 23:2,3, “He leads me to peaceful streams and refreshes my life…”
Isaiah 40:22,23, “Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The LORD is the eternal God, Creator of the world…”
John 3:16, “God so loved the people of this world that he gave his Son…”
God’s Truth stands, embedded within each panel, invisible yet present – whether the world accepts it or not. It stands.
