Beach Jewels

Rainbows and sparkling jewels
lined the beach
this morning.
Purest white refracted by the warm touch of sun, into
full spectrum colour
like diamonds – but made of foam.

The waves slip softly
up the beach and then
slow down…
stop…
retreat…
and what’s left behind
decorates the sand
with rainbows and sparkling jewels.
All for my delight.
